Crawler

KompenaBot

If you found this page from your server logs, this is the whole story: what fetched your site, why, and how to stop it.

What you saw in your logs

KompenaBot/1.0 (+https://kompena.dk/bot)

That is the only user-agent we send. Every request from us carries it, and it links back here on purpose.

Why it visited

Somebody asked for an audit of a website, and we went and looked at it. Usually that somebody is the site's own owner, running our free audit on their own domain.

The other case is competitor context: a customer's report can compare their site to a named competitor in their trade. If that is you, your public pages were read the same way any visitor reads them, and nothing about your site is stored beyond what the report shows the customer.

What it fetched

A handful of pages, once, in a single short visit. The home page, and a few pages linked from it. We read the HTML a browser would render — headings, links, buttons, structured data, the text a visitor sees.

  • No forms are submitted and nothing is bought, booked or signed up for.
  • Nothing behind a login is touched. We have no credentials for your site.
  • No vulnerability scanning, no probing for admin paths, no brute force.
  • It is not a continuous crawl. It runs when an audit runs.

How to block it

Add this to your robots.txt and we will stop before we start. We check it on every visit.

User-agent: KompenaBot
Disallow: /

The limit, stated plainly

We honour a root-level Disallow addressed to KompenaBot or to every agent. We do not currently read per-path rules, because an audit reads only a few pages from a site somebody asked us to look at. If you need finer control than on or off, write to us and say so.

Ask us anything

A real person answers. If our crawler caused you a problem, we would rather hear it than not.

And if you are curious what it was for

Kompena scores a company's marketing and tells it what to fix first. The audit that visited you is free and public.
